Most Memorable Robots at CES 2026: From Ping Pong Players to Housekeepers

CES 2026 once again showcased a wide array of innovative robots, offering a glimpse into the future of automation. From humanoid robots with incredible dexterity to machines performing everyday tasks, the event highlighted the ever-growing potential of robotics. While not all of the robots were ready for prime time, they sure were captivating to watch. Here are some of the most unforgettable bots I encountered during the convention.

CES 2026 offered up its usual dose of robotic marvels, but this year, the bots were more diverse and entertaining than ever. Whether they were playing ping-pong, shadowboxing, or folding laundry, the robots on display gave us a glimpse into the future of both industrial and consumer automation. Here are the ones that stood out to me.

The Ping Pong Player: Sharpa’s Robot Takes on Humans

It’s only fitting that a ping-pong-playing robot was part of this year’s event, especially with the recent release of the movie Marty Supreme. Chinese robotics company Sharpa unveiled a full-bodied robot programmed to compete in table tennis. When I visited the booth, the robot was trailing its human competitor, 5-9, but watching it play was still impressive. The robot’s main product is its robotic hand, and this ping-pong display was a demonstration of the hand’s dexterity.

The Boxer: EngineAI’s T800 Humanoids in Action

One of the crowd favorites was EngineAI’s humanoid robots, the T800, which were displayed in a mock boxing ring. Despite their namesake’s association with action-packed fight scenes, these robots didn’t throw punches. Instead, they engaged in shadowboxing. While a few of the bots were unpredictable one even wandered out of the ring into the audience the spectacle was still entertaining, evoking a strange mix of amusement and eeriness. The robots’ humanoid qualities certainly made them appear more lifelike, prompting one observer to quip, “That’s too much like Robocop.”

The Dancer: Unitree Robots Show Off Their Moves

Dancing robots have been a staple of CES for years, and this year, Unitree’s robots carried the torch. Known for their work in humanoid robots, Unitree’s bots were feeling the groove. The company, which has faced scrutiny for its potential ties to the Chinese military, showcased their capabilities with robots that seemed right at home on the dance floor. Though their main focus isn’t on entertainment, the bots’ smooth moves were a fun spectacle.

The Convenience Store Clerk: Galbot’s Automated Assistant

Galbot’s booth was set up to resemble a convenience store, where its robot interacted with customers. After choosing an item from a menu on a screen, the bot would fetch the item for you. I selected Sour Patch Kids, and the robot efficiently retrieved a box from the shelf. Galbot’s robots are already in use in various real-world settings, including pharmacies in China, making this demonstration a glimpse at what’s possible in automated retail.

The Housekeeper: Dyna Robotics’ Laundry Folding Machine

Folding laundry is a quintessential challenge for automation, and Dyna Robotics might have just cracked it. At their booth, I watched as robotic arms folded shirts and stacked them neatly into piles. This process was not only efficient but also accurate, showing the company’s advanced manipulation technology. Dyna Robotics has partnered with businesses like Monster Laundry in Sacramento to integrate their folding system into operations. The company recently raised $120 million in a Series A funding round, with backing from major players like Nvidia, Amazon, and Samsung.

The Butler: LG’s CLOid Makes Its CES Debut

LG introduced CLOid, a new home robot that promises to be a handy helper around the house. While it was cute and functional, the bot wasn’t the quickest on its feet. Still, it’s an example of the home robotics market, which is gaining momentum. Despite its slower pace, CLOid was an interesting addition to CES, giving a glimpse into how robots could soon take on everyday chores.

CES 2026 showcased some fascinating robots that spanned various industries, from entertainment to healthcare and home automation. While some of these bots are still in the prototype phase, they offer a glimpse into how robotics might soon impact our daily lives. Whether it’s playing ping-pong or folding laundry, the robots on display this year prove that the future of automation is exciting and a bit quirky.
