BEIJING, Jan 8 (Reuters) China’s Ministry of Commerce announced Thursday that it will review and investigate Meta’s acquisition of the artificial intelligence startup Manus.
The ministry stated that companies involved in activities such as foreign investments, technology exports, data transfers abroad, and acquisitions must adhere to Chinese laws and regulations. Spokesperson He Yadong emphasized at a press briefing that the ministry would collaborate with relevant departments to assess whether this acquisition complies with the country’s laws and regulations.
